Titanium alloy components are prone to deformation during processing, primarily due to the physical properties of titanium alloys and certain factors in the machining process. The following suggestions address deformation issues during the processing of titanium alloy components:

① Control Processing Temperature: Titanium alloys have a higher thermal expansion coefficient than most metals, making them susceptible to deformation when processing temperatures change. Therefore, during processing, the temperature should be appropriately increased to enhance material plasticity, reduce material hardness and internal stress, and minimize cutting heat. However, temperatures should not be excessively high, as this can lead to material oxidation and tool adhesion. Generally, the processing temperature should be controlled around 550°C.

② Optimize Cutting Parameters: When cutting titanium alloys, suitable tools and cutting parameters should be selected based on specific conditions. High-speed tungsten steel tools are recommended, and cutting depth and speed should be reasonably controlled. The cutting depth should not exceed 50% of the tool diameter to reduce friction between the titanium alloy and the tool, as well as cutting heat.

③ Reduce Machining Stress: Titanium alloys generate significant strain and machining stress during processing, which can affect material plasticity and strength, leading to deformation. Therefore, machining stress should be minimized. For example, use step-by-step machining, apply sufficient clamping force, and adjust clamping force to reduce deformation caused by fixture setup.

④ Control Material Quality: Titanium alloys often contain internal impurities that can affect material properties during processing. Thus, titanium alloy materials should undergo strict inspection and control before processing to ensure they meet machining requirements.

⑤ Use Suitable Machining Methods: Machining methods for titanium alloys include mechanical processing, chemical processing, electrical discharge machining, and laser processing. The appropriate method should be selected based on specific conditions, and corresponding measures should be taken to reduce deformation during processing.

⑥ Enhance Clamping and Support: During processing, auxiliary support should be provided for areas corresponding to clamping positions. Using large-area soft support can reduce part vibration tendencies while applying minimal and uniform support force. This leverages the part's local rigidity to counteract deformation caused by machining forces.

⑦ Pay Attention to Tool Sharpness: Insufficient tool sharpness can lead to uneven machining forces, causing deformation. Therefore, tool sharpness should be regularly checked during processing to ensure tools remain sharp and maintain good cutting performance.
