TA7 Titanium Alloy: A Brief Analysis Of Properties And Composition

1, TA7 and TA7ELI alloys are typical alpha-type alloys. The nominal composition is Ti-5Al-2.5Sn. aluminum and tin play a role in stabilizing α and solid solution strengthening.

2, TA7 alloy can not be heat-treated strengthening, only through recrystallization annealing to achieve α-phase solution strengthening. Recrystallization starting temperature of 580 ℃. β-phase transition point of about 1020 ~ 1030 ℃; recrystallization annealing temperature, plate 700 ~ 750 ℃; bar, forgings 800 ~ 850 ℃; stress relief annealing temperature of 550 ~ 600 ℃.

3, TA7 alloy has medium strength, creep resistance and thermal stability is also good. The long-term working temperature can reach 450℃, and the short-term working temperature can reach 800~850℃.

4, TA7 alloy has good low temperature performance and welding performance. As the temperature decreases, the strength increases and the plasticity decreases slightly. TA7ELI alloy has low content of interstitial elements and still maintains good plasticity at -250℃, commonly used for ultra-low-temperature and high-pressure containers, and is mostly supplied as plates and bars.

5, TA7 alloy process plasticity is low, plate stamping must be carried out in a heated state, generally heated to 700 ℃. And there is enough process shaping.
