Description
Grade 5 Titanium UNS (R56400) Ti-6Al-4V alloy is the most widely used titanium alloy in the alpha-plus-beta group and the most common of all titanium alloys. The alloy is castable and "as cast" for use in sporting goods. The forged material is used in aerospace, medical and other applications where medium strength, good strength-to-weight ratio and good corrosion properties are required.

Ti-6AL-4V (Grade 5, classed as an alpha-beta alloy is the most widely used of the high strength titanium alloys. Grade 5 combines its good mechanical strength and low density (4.42 kg/m3) with excellent corrosion resistance in many media. Grade 5 is fully heat-treatable in section sizes up to 15 mm and is used up to approx 400 deg C (750 deg F).
Typical applications: Oil and gas, marine offshore and power generation, including the aerospace industry.
