Products Description
Tantalum is used in the manufacture of welded tantalum tubes/tantalum pipes and seamless tantalum tubes/pipes for a wide range of applications. Seamless tantalum tubes/pipes are manufactured by extrusion, shrinkage or deep drawing of sheet metal. Welded tantalum tubes are manufactured by forming strips and then tubes and then welding the joints with gas-shielded tungsten arc welding.
Tantalum (Ta) is a dark blue-gray metal that is very heavy, ductile, hard and highly resistant to corrosion. Tantalum is particularly resistant to chemicals at temperatures below 150 °C and can only be dissolved with hydrofluoric acid. It has the fourth highest melting point of all metals and forms an extremely thin protective oxide layer for high-quality capacitors, making it an excellent material for electronic tubes.
