Description
The different grades of titanium alloys have varying degrees of corrosion resistance, but generally exhibit excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in marine environments, chemical media and other corrosive environments. Depending on the grade of titanium alloy, ASTM B861 welded titanium tubing can be supplied with mechanical strengths ranging from low to high to meet the needs of different applications. Specific Titanium Alloy Grades
Gr1: Pure titanium with the highest corrosion resistance and lowest strength.
Gr2: Pure titanium, slightly stronger than Gr1, but still maintains good corrosion resistance.
Gr5 (Ti-6Al-4V): One of the most commonly used titanium alloys, with high strength and good corrosion resistance.
Gr7: A palladium-containing titanium alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, especially suitable for seawater environments.
Gr9 (Ti-3Al-2.5V): a medium strength titanium alloy with good welding properties and corrosion resistance.
