Gr5 alloy titanium tubing is a commercially pure titanium (CP titanium), which is composed primarily of titanium with some traces of oxygen, nitrogen and carbon. Compared to Gr1, Gr5 titanium tubing has higher strength and slightly lower ductility.
Description
Gr5 titanium tubing is less dense and much lighter than steel, reducing the overall weight of the vehicle and improving fuel efficiency and performance. While not as strong as Gr23 or Ti-6Al-4V alloys, Gr5 still has good mechanical properties and is able to withstand the stresses in the exhaust system.
