Gr7 (Ti-0.2Pd) is a heat-resistant alpha+beta type titanium alloy with the addition of palladium (Pd) elements, which is particularly well known for its stability and creep resistance in high temperature environments.
Description
Designed for medium to high temperature applications, Gr7 titanium alloy is thermally stable and capable of maintaining high mechanical properties even after long-term exposure to temperatures ranging from 400°C to 600°C, thanks to the addition of palladium, which enhances the alloy's thermal stability. In addition to heat resistance, Gr7 inherits the excellent corrosion resistance of titanium alloys, especially to oxidising and reducing media, and is suitable for a variety of chemical corrosion environments.

Hot forming is the process of heating the Gr7 titanium plate above its recrystallisation temperature for plastic deformation, which effectively reduces work hardening and facilitates the forming of complex parts. Precise control of temperature and deformation rate is required during thermoforming to ensure a uniform microstructure of the material and to avoid cracks and other defects. After forming, Gr7 titanium sheet exhibits excellent overall mechanical properties, including high strength, good toughness and creep resistance, which makes it suitable for manufacturing critical components subjected to high temperatures and pressure loads.
