The electrical and thermal properties of copper tungsten substrates vary with the ratio. When the copper content increases, the thermal conductivity also increases. This allows copper-tungsten substrates to be used in circuit breakers. Resistivity increases with increasing tungsten content in the composite, ranging from 3.16 when the composite is 55% tungsten to 6.1 when the composite contains 90% tungsten. the increase in tungsten content results in an increase in ultimate tensile strength until the alloy reaches 80% tungsten and 20% copper with an ultimate tensile strength of 663 MPa. the tungsten content of the composite increases with the tungsten content of the composite.
