Regional Distribution of World Tungsten Ore Resources
Feb 01, 2024
The world's tungsten resources are mainly concentrated in the Alps-Himalayas and the Pacific Rim geological belt. China is located in these two geological belts, so it is rich in tungsten reserves and ranks first in the world. China's tungsten ore is mainly distributed in the eastern coast of Guangdong on both sides of China's Nanling Mountains, with the largest reserves in the southern part of Jiangxi Province, accounting for more than half of the world's tungsten reserves.
Russia's tungsten resources are mainly concentrated in the North Caucasus, East Siberia and the Far East in the middle of the Sikhote-Alin mountain range, the larger mines are Verkhne-Kayrakty.

Tungsten ore resources in the United States are mainly concentrated in California and Colorado.
Canadian tungsten mines are mainly concentrated in the Selwyn tungsten belt, while the most commercially valuable deposits are located in British Columbia's Cassiar (Cassiar) bedrock to the Yukon Territory and the Northwest Territories border of the extension of the MacMillan (MacMillan) deposits.
State Distribution
According to the data released by the U.S. Geological Survey in 2015, the global tungsten resource reserves are about 3.3 million tons, and China has the largest tungsten resource reserves of 1.9 million tons, accounting for about 58% of the global total. It is followed by Canada (290,000 tons), Russia (250,000 tons) and the United States (140,000 tons). Other countries in the world with richer tungsten reserves include Bolivia (53,000 tons), Australia (10,000 tons) and Portugal (0.42 million tons).
