Molybdenum Lanthanum Mo-La Alloy
Molybdenum-lanthanum alloys consist of an alloy of molybdenum, the base metal, and lanthanum trioxide, which exists as a diffuse mass in the matrix. The La2O3 content of the alloy is typically 0.5% to 5.0% (mass fraction).
Description
The molybdenum-lanthanum alloy billet is opened at 1500℃ and then warm rolled and cold rolled to 2.4 mm thick plate. The processing rate of the passes was 25%~35%, and the total processing rate was 80%. The rolled molybdenum-lanthanum plates were annealed in hydrogen furnaces at 1100, 1250, 1400, 1550 and 1950°C, respectively.

The rare earth element lanthanum does not react chemically with molybdenum and is present in the molybdenum matrix as lanthanum La2O3. In the alloy powder, the rare-earth lanthanum is embedded on the surface of the molybdenum powder particles in the form of La2O3. In the sintered billet, the La2O3 particles are uniformly distributed, not only on the molybdenum grain boundaries, but also within the molybdenum grains, and the particle size of the rare earth particles on the grain boundaries is generally larger than that within the grains. Rare earth oxide particles exist mainly in spherical, isometric form;
Molybdenum lanthanum alloy plate heat treatment below 1400 ℃, La2O3 particles are very small, difficult to recognize. 1400 ℃ above the heat treatment, La2O3 small particles aggregated into larger spherical or short rods of small particles strings, and after 1550 ℃, with the increase in heat treatment temperature, La2O3 particles of the size and shape of the change is not significant.
