Niobium For Superconductivity
Feb 29, 2024
Superconductivity is one of the promising fields of niobium. In the past 10 years, niobium application in this field has made great progress, so far, almost all industrial superconducting devices use N bT i and N b3Sn as superconductors. For example, in the mid-1970s, Shanghai developed China's first superconducting motor, the use of N bT i Cu superconducting wire; in the United States to build the world's largest superconducting particle gas pedal, superconducting magnets used in the N bT i alloy utility amounted to 500t.

In a variety of superconducting materials, the largest amount of the most widely used N bT i superconducting materials, followed by A15 intermetallic compound N b3Sn superconducting materials. At present, the application fields of N bT i superconducting materials include: high energy physics, nuclear fusion experimental devices and nuclear magnetic resonance imaging.
