TA15 Machinability And Weldability

Mar 11, 2024

TA15 titanium alloy is generally used to produce non-standard fasteners, not bolts, screws, etc.. Its cutting and machining difficulty is similar to that of ordinary titanium alloys. The alloy has good tig welding, contact welding and submerged arc welding performance.

The welding behavior of TA15 alloy is basically similar to that of α alloy, and it is not necessary to carry out stabilizing annealing after welding. The strength of its martensitic α phase is close to that of the α phase. The alloy has good weldability for tig, contact and submerged arc welding. The room temperature strength and high temperature strength of the weld is 90%-95% of the strength of the base metal. Automatic argon arc welding welded joints of 2mm thick plate, the strength, bending angle and impact properties in its welded state, post-weld annealing state, post-weld heat exposure state at 450℃ for 100h do not differ much, and the joints are not sensitive to heat treatment.
