Titanium steel composite plate is produced by explosion rolling composite or explosion composite technology, with low cost and excellent performance. In production, the common quality problems are: composite plate defects and welding defects. The former is mainly due to the insufficient bonding rate, the titanium layer and the steel layer appear localized surface cracks; the latter is mainly caused by the insufficient bonding ratio, and its preventive measures are:
1, welding defects
1) Use argon gas with a purity of not less than 99.99% as the protective gas for the titanium layer. In addition, the welding wire shall not have cracks and interlayers.
2) Carefully clean and treat the workpiece welding area before welding. The ambient temperature is lower than 5℃, and the surface of the base steel is preheated with a flame.
3) For titanium-steel composite plate equipment, the titanium weld processing process is strip processing, i.e., remove the titanium layer within 15mm of the edge of the composite plate, weld through the steel weld first, and then completely cover the titanium-steel weld. Steel weld using 50mm wide titanium strip welding titanium layer, while argon gas protection.



(4) Micro cracks on the surface of the composite plate must be cleaned and repaired. For fine cracks can be used direct welding method.
(5) For non-compliance found during production and inspection, if the area is large, the material must be replaced. If the area is small, remedial measures can be taken. If the area is not bonded, titanium rivets should be used to reduce rivets.
2, composite plate defects
(1) Adhere to the incoming material re-examination, the combination of composite plate condition should be checked one by one. Focus on transition joints, flanges, etc. For the composite plate without considering the strength of titanium, flaw detection requires continuous 100% ultrasonic flaw detection in a 50 mm wide circumference, and 200 mm pitch detection in the remaining part. Area. For the rest, 100% flaw detection.
(2) When the plasticity of the composite plate is poor, it needs to be re-annealed to eliminate stress and improve its properties to prevent defects in subsequent production.
3) When the coil, stamping head, etc. need to bend the plate, the temperature is low, the flame should be used to preheat the bending part to prevent bubbles or cracks.
(4) When cutting holes and drilling rod hole operations, the undercutting and drilling operations should be processed from the titanium layer to the steel layer as much as possible to prevent the composite plate from tearing or cracking.
