Super Alloy Incoloy 020 (UNS N08020) Seamless Tube
Incoloy 020 (UNS N08020) has excellent resistance to chemicals containing sulphuric acid and good resistance to environments containing chlorides, phosphoric acid and nitric acid. It contains niobium, which stabilises against sensitisation and the resulting intergranular corrosion. It also has good mechanical properties and processability.
Description
Alloy N08020 is a nickel-iron-chromium austenitic alloy with excellent resistance to acid attack, pitting and crevice corrosion, as well as chlorinated acids and chemicals, general corrosion and intergranular corrosion. The alloy combines excellent corrosion resistance with ease of fabrication and enhanced mechanical properties.
Products Description
N08020 is a niobium stabilised low carbon austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing copper and molybdenum.
- Excellent resistance to sulphuric and phosphoric acid corrosion
- Good resistance to intergranular corrosion
- Excellent resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking
- Good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
N08020 Corrosion Resistance:
N08020 exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to aqueous solutions of sulfuric, phosphoric and organic acids and their salts. It also has good resistance to nitric acid corrosion. The chemical composition has been adjusted so that it exhibits excellent resistance to various types of corrosion such as intergranular corrosion and stress corrosion. Molybdenum is also included to ensure resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. To maximise corrosion resistance, the material must be metallurgically correct and clean.
