Description
According to BS 3171, the chemical composition of Ti-6Al-4V titanium plate meets the following requirements:
-Titanium (Ti): balance
-Aluminum (Al): 5.5% to 6.8% - Vanadium (V): 3.5% to 4.5%
-Oxygen (O): 0.20% max.
-Nitrogen (N): 0.05% max.
-Hydrogen (H): 0.015% max.
-Iron (Fe): 0.30% max.
-Carbon (C): 0.10% max.
-Silicon (Si): 0.15% max.

Heat treatment is essential to ensure the performance of Ti-6Al-4V titanium sheet.
Solution treatment: Typically between 900°C and 950°C, followed by rapid cooling (usually water or oil cooled) to create a uniform microstructure.
Aging treatment: Typically carried out between 480°C and 550°C for a few hours to a few days to increase the strength and hardness of the material.
The BS 3171 standard specifies dimensional tolerances for plates, including thickness, width and length. The exact tolerance range depends on the specific dimensions of the sheet and the requirements of the application.
