MSRR 8614 specifies detailed requirements for Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloys (i.e., Grade 5 titanium), including chemical composition, mechanical properties, and heat treatment processes, and is used worldwide, particularly in the aerospace industry.
Description
According to MSRR 8614, the chemical composition of Ti-6Al-4V titanium plate shall meet the following requirements:
Titanium (Ti): balance
Aluminum (Al): 5.5 to 6.8 percent
Vanadium (V): 3.5 to 4.5 percent
Oxygen (O): 0.20% maximum
Nitrogen (N): 0.05% maximum
Hydrogen (H): 0.015% maximum
Iron (Fe): 0.30% max.
Carbon (C): 0.10% max.
Silicon (Si): 0.15% max.
