Description

Firstly, zirconium is very soft and ductile at room temperature and under pressure, which makes our zirconium flakes easy to process. Pure elemental zirconium also has a very high melting point, which makes it ideal for high-temperature applications such as refractory materials, furnaces and cladding for jet engines and nuclear reactors.

Products covered by this specification include the following forms and sizes:
1.1 Plates with a width of 24 inches [600 mm] or more; less than 0.187 inches [4.8 mm] thick, and
1.2 Strips less than 600 mm [24 inches] wide; less than 0.187 inches [4.8 mm] thick, and
1.3 Plate, widths greater than 10 inches [250 mm]; thicknesses of 0.187 inches [4.8 mm] and greater.
NOTE 1: Material more than 4.8 mm [0.187 in] thick and less than 250 mm [10 in] wide is considered bar stock for the purposes of Specification B351/B351M.
