The room temperature tensile strength of the ZHM alloy is about 40% to 50% higher than that of the TZM molybdenum alloy, which is the strongest molybdenum alloy.
Description
Hafnium-zirconium-molybdenum alloys (ZHM alloys) are molybdenum alloys composed of molybdenum as a base element with zirconium, hafnium, carbon and other alloying elements. The best known are molybdenum alloys of zirconium 0.4wt%~0.7wt% (mass fraction), hafnium 1.2wt%~2.1wt% (mass fraction) and carbon 0.15wt%~0.27wt% (mass fraction), i.e. ZHM molybdenum alloys or ZHM alloys.
Zirconium-hafnium-molybdenum alloy is a new type of molybdenum alloy. It has excellent creep resistance, low resistivity, high corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion. Both zirconium and hafnium are solid solution strengthened and diffusion strengthened composite carbides.

By powder metallurgy sintered into ingots by 1200 ℃ forging processing, deformation of 50% ~ 75% or higher, the middle of the 1200 ℃ hydrogen annealing 8h. Different processing and heat treatment on the final alloy properties have a great impact.
ZHM alloy is still in the development stage, mainly processed into ingots built as high temperature alloy powder isothermal forging mold.
