Zirconium Crucible

Zirconium crucibles have a high melting point of 1855°C (3371°F) and excellent corrosion resistance to bases, acids, brines, and other media (except hot concentrated acids). Because of their similar thermochemical properties, zirconium crucibles are often used as a cost-effective alternative to conventional platinum labware. Zirconium crucibles are widely used in high temperature applications such as melting of metals and salts. It is ideal for highly corrosive melting processes (lithium and sodium salt melting) in analytical chemistry and chemical processing.

Standard products and specifications

Material: Zirconium 702 (Zr+Hf >99.2)

Recommended operating temperature: 500-600 °C. Heating at higher temperatures may damage the crucible and shorten its service life.

It is recommended to use the crucible under inert gas. Use in air will lead to oxidation and shorten the service life of the crucible.
